The team enjoy the beautiful weather during a meet at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa

The Girls Cross-Country team has been practicing since the 6th of August, putting in miles for a guaranteed successful year.

Unfortunately, due to Mother Nature, their first meet that was supposed to take place in Bettendorf, was cancelled.

Despite the cancellations, the team still holds a spot on the pre-season ranking at 5th, with Ashley Donovan (12) and Lillian Schmidt (10) ranked in the top 15 for individuals. Four out of Seven runners are back from last year’s varsity team. The captains this year are seniors Stacey Kloft, Kathryn Burns, Ashley Donovan, Lauren Miller, and Olivia Kruse. All the girls that make up the hard-working team are so excited to get the races started.

UPDATE: On Saturday, September ninth, the Rams ran their first race of the season. The All-American Invitational Meet took place in Decorah, Iowa at Luther Collage. Thirty teams ran, and the Rams stood out placing first place in both the JV and varsity race.
