Super Smash Brothers Ultimate released on December 7, 2018

Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, the biggest game of the year, is coming out in just 4 days! Do you have your players picked out?

Super Smash Bros Ultimate will have a whopping 76 characters to choose (and a 77th – Piranha Plant – if you register your game with My Nintendo by January 31, 2019).

Knowing the best ones from the get go might give you an advantage. Obviously, with at least 70 other characters, your favorite might still be there, even if it does not make this list.

 

Number 6 – Duck Hunt Dog

Duck Hunt Dog is one of the original Nintendo characters.

In the original game, Duck Hunt, missing a duck brings about a well-known laugh. This laugh can be heard again in Smash Brothers Ultimate.

Duck Hunt Dog also has a very diverse move set that will take out players using both ranged attacks and close-ranged attacks. He will again have access to the oil barrel, one of his bests moves in the previous Smash Brothers games.

 

 

Number 5 – Mr. Game & Watch

Mr. Game & Watch originates from the hand-held video games of the early 1980s. Game & Watch could easily contend for number one if not for his luck factor.

One of his main moves includes him swinging a hammer that generates a random number between 1-9. The attack gets stronger as the number goes up.

He also has an amazing recovery that can get him out of the toughest situations.

Shuntaro Furukawa, the CEO of Nintendo, said, “Mr. Game & Watch has been my favorite character to play and can out power most.”

 

Number 4 – Marth

Marth has been a staple character throughout the previous Smash Brothers games. He originates from the strategy game, Fire Emblem.

He ranks as one of the strongest fighters on the roster and can control the stage with his long sword, as well as juggle his opponent with his up B*

*For those of you who are new to video games, Up B is a special type of move a character can do following a series of specific controller movements).

 

Number 3 – Sheik

From the Legend of Zelda series comes Sheik. She is another powerhouse known throughout the Smash Brothers games.

With her very fast movement speed and attacks, she can slide in and out of fights with ease while doing huge amounts of damage in the process.

According to Rankboost.com Sheik is a S tier fighter.

 

 

Number 2 – Snake

Snake is one of the few characters not created by Nintendo. Snake originates from Metal Gear Solid, and returns from Super Smash Brothers Brawl (2008).

Not only is Snake extremely strong, but he also brings a wide variety of weaponry including a rocket launcher, grenades, mines, and his fists.

He is also a crowd favorite and easily a top tier fighter. People had begged for him to be brought back into the game.

According to Rankedboost.com, Snake is considered an S tier fighter.

 

Number 1 – Olimar

Olimar is easily considered one of the best players in the roster.

With his ability to pull up to 3 Pikmin out of the ground to help him fight, he is almost unstoppable. His recovery is amazing, and his stage control is by far the best.

Game creator Masahiro Sakurai said, “Olimar is quite a strong brawler and one of my favorites as well.
